Trezor Warns of Tampered Hardware Wallets Sold by Reseller

A customer reported that a Trezor Safe 5 hardware wallet purchased through reseller CryptoBilis contained an unauthorized circuit board designed to broadcast recovery phrases over mobile networks. Trezor is urging anyone who purchased devices from this reseller since March 2026 to transfer their funds immediately to a clean wallet with a new phrase. This incident demonstrates the real-world operational risk of purchasing hardware through unauthorized or compromised supply chain channels.
