Microsoft Surface Book 2: More Than Just Competitive

This holiday season has seen the release of some fantastic technology across the IT industry. One of the most impressive of these is the Microsoft Surface Book 2, released in Canada in November. This 2-in-1 unit features some of the most powerful specs available, making it an ideal solution for business people on-the-go or professionals who need constant multitasking.

The Surface Book 2 comes with a variety of features that make it a fantastic upgrade from the previous Surface Book, as well as from many other hybrids and laptops. Long battery life, fantastic resolution and display, outstanding performance, and available accessories make it a great solution for a variety of technology woes.

While the price is nothing to scoff at, with the unit targeting professional and premium users, the Surface Book 2 comes with features that, for some, make it the best laptop choice on the market.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Features

Long Battery Life

Microsoft boasts a whopping 17 hours of battery life over local video playback, double the capabilities of the original Surface Book. Even under vigorous testing, the Surface Book 2 battery stands up and lasts hours longer than its predecessor. For those who travel or are on the road often, the Surface Book 2’s battery life puts it high above the competition.

Powerful

The Surface Book 2 comes with a variety of processor and graphics card options to allow you to customize the machine for your needs. You can get an 8^th gen Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card for next-level power and efficiency in your machine. With this powerful processor and a robust cooling system, the Surface Book 2 holds its own not only against other hybrids, but against some gaming laptops. It even comes with an Xbox live radio for wireless Xbox controllers, so you know it can handle some intense programs.

While you may not be using it for gaming at work (or at least, you shouldn’t be!), the powerful processor capabilities allow for easy multitasking with even the most demanding of professional programs.

Lightweight & Portable

At a mere 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg) including the keyboard attachment, the Surface Book 2 is lightweight and easy to take with you anywhere your job takes you. The hinge makes it easy to position the keyboard and display how you need, and the keyboard attachment is easily removable for when you only need a tablet. It’s great for taking on the road, packing in a bag, or using while you’re on the go.

Pen Input

The Surface Book 2 comes with a Surface pen input and pen capabilities, but not the Surface pen itself. This is an optional extra, but with the updates of the Surface Book 2, it might be worth it. There is almost no lag to speak of when using the pen – it’s smooth, quick, and makes for easy note taking in documents or photo editing in graphics. For people in many industries, the smoothness of the Surface Pen is a key selling point of the Surface Book 2.

Display

The Surface Book 2 comes with a detailed PixelSense display and clear resolution, second only to 4k. The text is crisp, graphics are bright, and the resolution is among the best in the market. Pixel for pixel, the display is better than the MacBook Pro. The touch response has improved from the original Surface Book, with both finger and the Surface pen, to have almost no perceptible lag. PixelSense on the Surface Book 2 makes for a seamless touchscreen experience.

How Can The Surface Book 2 Benefit You?

If you’re looking for a versatile and powerful 2-in-1 notebook for your business, the Surface Book 2 might be the solution for you. It offers high quality graphics, a powerful system, the portability and flexibility of a notebook, the ease of use of a tablet – including pen input, along with many other benefits that are advantageous for a variety of industries.
